Hello friend, I am Timothy Kimo Brien, head instigator at Create Art Podcast where we help you to tame the inner critic and create more than we consume. Every year in April National Poetry Writing Month occurs, this is a challenge to write 30 poems in 30 days and comes from the NaPoWriMo site. When you participate you are given a prompt every day for 30 days and you can choose to follow the prompt or not. Each prompt has a commentary with it and a style of poetry that you may not be familiar with. I enjoy it because it stretches my creative muscles and helps me organize my thoughts. I also really enjoy a good challenge. There is also an opportunity to read other people's work as they post on their websites and for you to comment on their work, giving them encouragement or offering a suggestion. Care to join me on this journey?
Day 28 Prompt
Our prompt today (optional, as always), is to write a poem that poses a series of questions. The questions could be a mix of the serious (“What is the meaning of life?”) and humorous (“What’s the deal with cats knocking things off tables?”), the interruptive (“Could you repeat that?”) and the conversational (“Are those peanuts? Can I have some?”). You can choose to answer them – or just let the questions keep building up, creating a poem that asks the reader to come up with their own answer(s).
Day 28 Poem
Could I Care?
If I poured out the contents of my mind
If I told you what I really think about every day
If there was a way to convey in few words my feelings
Would you swipe right or left
Would you care to investigate
Would you allow yourself to be touched
How can we stay focused on one thing
How can I convince you to listen
How will you let me know you are listening
When will the bomb go off in my head
When will this current misery end
When will we embrace each other as friends
Is the search for enlightenment a passing dalliance
Is the search for answers an appropriate time suck
Is there a way that I can better communicate through the pen
Should I care more about what the audience wants to hear
Should I care that I hear crickets when baring my soul
Should I start over with something new
Could I care a little bit more
Could I care if you are troubled
Could I care to take the time to heal myself
Are there answers to any of these questions
Are there any questions I have forgotten
Are there any answers that I have missed that reside within me
