KDOI Rebroadcast of interview with Ethan Rusch

Hello friend, this is Timothy Kimo Brien your head instigator at Create Art Podcast where I bring my 20 years in art and education to help you tame your inner critic and create more than you consume. In 2021 I am rebroadcasting my former podcast KDOI Podcast here so you can catch up on what we have been doing for the past 4 years. KDOI Podcast was my first serious attempt at podcasting after spending many years just creating content without regard to the final product. KDOI started in 2016 and had 3 seasons until I closed it down in 2019. I wanted to make sure that these gems didn’t get relegated to my external hard drives, so here you go, there will be interviews, commentary, and projects that you can do for yourself. Enjoy these rebroadcasts and Create More Than You Consume.

Hip Hop as Art

This interview was a special one because about a month previous to it I had neck fusion surgery and in order to do that, the doctors had to move my vocal cords out of the way and my voice was very gruff. Needless to say, I was on some really good painkillers at the time. In this interview, I talk with my nephew Ethan Rusch who was a hip-hop artist in Madison Wisconsin. He had found some acclaim in that city and we went over his roots in the hip-hop world as well as how he approaches his craft. This was a very fun interview as we had numerous tangents. In fact, I played this interview for the DC Podcasters group at one of our meetings where we shared the first five minutes of an episode and critiqued it. When my five minutes were over the room was in stitches and thought it was the best thing they ad heard and when I told them that this was not planned out and how my nephew and I really talk the laughter grew even more. Sit back, have a listen and share with a friend that needs a good laugh. Sometimes we just need to poke fun at ourselves and take ourselves a bit less seriously.
